Georgetown University Medical Center also participates with almost all health insurance plans, including commercial/indemnity plans which are not included on this list. If your health plan is not listed, contact your health plan or your employee benefits office to determine whether you may receive care at Georgetown.
Each patient's actual coverage or benefits may vary depending on 1) the contract between your employer and the health plan, 2) the health plans requirements for referral authorization or precertification, and 3) the plans special arrangements with preferred physicians or health care facilities for the provision of specific categories of care.
Note that most health plans offer Point-of-Service (POS) products which allow subscribers to use any provider (i.e., accessing non-participating providers or accessing providers without a referral), but which increase out-of-pocket expenses.
