PICC Line Service Pediatric patients (both inpatient and outpatient) who need long-term i.v. therapy may benefit from a Peripherally-Inserted Central Catheter (PICC line). This procedure allows for home therapy and early discharge from the hospital. Procedures are performed by pediatric intensivists under deep sedation (in mature adolescents the option of local anesthesia is offered). Two-way transport of inpatients from other hospitals for the procedure is available.
