Programs & Clinics

Alzheimer's Disease Clinic

Provides a broad range of diagnostic, management, and treatment services to people with Alzheimer's disease and memory disorders associated with aging. The clinic offers a variety of diagnostic techniques, including neuropsychological tests, blood and urine analyses, clinical trails of experimental drugs, and other research aimed at treatment.

Cerebral Blood Flow Center

Provides a complete range of non-invasive procedures to diagnose occlusive disorders of extracranial carotid and vertebral arteries as well as intracranial vessels. Services include:

  • Ocular pneumoplethysmography
  • Quantitative volumetric flow studies
  • B-mode real-time imaging
  • Carotid phonoangiography
  • Continuous wave Doppler angiography
  • Pulse gated Doppler ultrasonography with frequency spectrum analysis.

Transcranial Doppler sonography is available for the monitoring of cerebral vasospasm following subarachnoid hemorrhage as well as during migraine attacks. Flow volume measurement technology provides an additional dimension in evaluation of the dementias and determination of brain death.

Computerized EOG & ENG Eye Movement Analyzer & Visual Evoked Responses Laboratory

Tests visual, oculomotor and vestibular function with EOG and infrared techniques. The laboratory also test visual physiology.

Electroencephalography (EEG) Laboratory

Is fully equipped to perform standard electroencephalography, CCTV-EEG monitoring of epileptic patients, topographical brain mapping, and evoked potentials.

Electromyography (EMG) Laboratory

Offers electrodiagnostic capabilities to detect neuromuscular diseases. Problems involving the peripheral nerves and muscles can be diagnosed using nerve stimulation and needle EMG muscle testing.

General Neurology Clinic

Provides new evaluations and ongoing care for all neurological illness or complaints.

Headache Treatment Center

Evaluates and treats complex and chronic headache. Each patient receives and interdisciplinary assessment and an individualized treatment program based on the latest advances in headache management. Emphasis is on coordination of resources and continuity of care.

Neuroimmunology Laboratory

Offers diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, and other neuroimmunological disorders.

Neurology Toxicology Laboratory

Provides comprehensive analytic testing of blood and urine for presence of drugs and substance abuse monitoring.

Neuromuscular Center

Offers patients with neuromuscular disorders comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, including biopsies of nerve and muscle, and therapeutic research protocols. Physical therapy and occupational therapy services are available thorough the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (as well as genetic counseling). The clinic is supported by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Neuropsychology Services

Assess cognitive, perceptual, and motor skills in the evaluation of brain functioning. The Neurology Department provided neuropsychological assessment of adults with a wide range of neurological and psychiatric conditions.

Parkinson's Disease Clinic

Provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluation of patients with Parkinson's disease and related movement disorders. Therapeutic research protocols include dietary control of Parkinsonism, and the role of sweeteners and other foods in the control of Parkinsonism.

Sleep Disorders Center

A fully accredited multidisciplinary facility with a comprehensive program to evaluate sleep disorders such as insomnia, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and impotence.
